PaBas is arranging a field trip to Hornelen in October for the sponsors.
Dates:
Sunday 02.10.2022 to Wednesday 05.10.2022
Start of field trip: Sunday 02.10.2022 at 12.00 at Bergen lufthavn Flesland
End of field trip: Wednesday 05.10.2022 at 15.00 at Bergen lufthavn Flesland
What will we look at?
We get the chance to study how an alluvial system that is detected on seismic data may look like in reality. It also brings the opportunity to consider the tectonosedimentary frame of an extensional Devonian basin. We will look at the tectonic limits of the Hornelen Basin, alluvial fans in the south and north, and more sandy parts in the axial fluvial system. We also will look at how strike and dip of the sediment packages vary in different parts of the basin, how the alluvial fans grew, and we will consider the depositional environment based on sedimentary structures.Cost
Participants book and pay they own transport to and from Flesland. Participants also pay for their own food. All other expenses are covered by PaBas.
