{"id":601,"date":"2023-07-12T15:15:22","date_gmt":"2023-07-12T15:15:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.ux.uis.no\/pabas\/?p=601"},"modified":"2023-07-13T06:12:41","modified_gmt":"2023-07-13T06:12:41","slug":"fieldtrip-to-northern-england-south-scotland-june-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.ux.uis.no\/pabas\/2023\/07\/12\/fieldtrip-to-northern-england-south-scotland-june-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Fieldtrip to Northern England \u2013 South Scotland"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>At the end of June, our team from the&nbsp;Department of Energy Resources had the incredible opportunity to explore the remarkable outcrops along the British East Coast as part of the Paleozoic Basins project.<br><br>During our visit, we encountered a diverse range of rocks spanning the Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous, and Permian periods, and we were able to witness significant unconformities such as the Siluro-Devonian, Carboniferous-Permian, and the Zechstein transgression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was truly fascinating to observe the various sedimentological environments (with lots of fossils!) and to study the different structural elements that have influenced these sequences. We engaged in stimulating discussions covering topics such as&nbsp;sedimentology, structural geology, paleontology and seismic resolution, and the potential analogues for the Norwegian Continental
